You will habituate it in time. It took much longer than a year for me to habituate it because I fought it and kept looking for cures. Stay as healthy as you can to give you mental and physical mastery over it. Your brain WILL send it to the back of the pile as time goes. There's too much good stuff to experience in life to think of suicide (even though I played with the idea too), but we do have responsibilities to those that love us... and after time you'll come to peace with Tinnitus and it'll be 'just a noise'. Our cross to bare.

But yeah, fuck tinnitus.

I have Tinnitus since I was nine years old (now i'm 29) after I exploded some firecrackers at New Year's Eve. No one (even my parents) believes me. Even worse, the otolaryngologist who visited me when I was ten (after insisting several times with my parents) had no idea what the Tinnitus syndrome was and told me not to mind that sound ("it's only in your fantasy" he said). Now it is twenty years that I have to put up with this annoying whistle in my ear that didn't let me sleep and though I do not whine as you are doing.

Everybody's entitled to a little whining. Congratulations on avoiding it.

So, it's Tinnitus which I am experiencing now. I've been through ups and downs lately which I believe the cause of this. I have researched on this http://www.tinnitusgoaway.com/ asserts it can cured. This Tinnitus really bothers me a lot. Looking forward not having the humming sound!
